MAY 2019.
I PARTICIPATED IN THE BIANNUAL ORWELL SOCIETY TRIP TO THE PLACES DESCRIBED BY ORWELL IN HIS BOOK HOMAGE TO CATALONIA (1938). I WENT TO HUESCA FRONT IN MAY 2019, visiting trenches of siétamo and montearagón.
GEORGE ORWELL WAS THERE IN 1937 JUST BEFORE "MAY EVENTS".
THE WRITER WAS HURT IN TRENCHES BY A SNIPER. ALMOST LOSING HIS VOICE AFTER, HE WENT TO LLEIDA'S HOSPITAL.
I WROTE THIS POEM. i MADE THESE PICTURES.

"When I tried to speak".
Huesca, Barcelona, May 2019
“I could feel nothing, but I was conscious that the bullet had struck me somewhere in the front of the body. When I tried to speak I found that I had no voice, only a faint squeak, but at the second attempt I managed to ask where I was hit. In the throat, they said”.
GEORGE ORWELL,  Homage to Catalonia, 1938.
Let me the light,
the bright silence
of a broken voice
writing words in trenches.

-Broken walls
with forgotten names
claims for a sound-.

Give me the light
the bright voice
of a broken silence
writing wounds in trenches.

Let me tonight
the silent voice
of a broken man
writing words in trenches.

Give me the bright
memory of night
covering this earth dried
with love and pain,
for being a human being

What’s wrong?
What’s, right?

Let me tonight,
without any voice,
let me to talk, to mourn, to laugh,
to cry, to love,
to joy
to write
to live
to die
for being,
just,
for being.
